Grindrod Asset Management (“GAM”) provides discretionary investment management services to institutional clients looking for exposure to South Africa’s listed property sector. Ian Anderson, Chief Investment Officer of GAM, has a wealth of experience and proven track-record managing portfolios of listed property securities on behalf of retirement funds, multi-managers and life funds.
As part of the management process, investment objectives are clearly defined on a client-by-client basis and the appropriate level of risk is determined. Portfolios can be structured to generate a high level of current income or above-average capital growth or a combination of the two. Portfolio administration is outsourced, allowing GAM to focus on investment management. Although GAM focuses on listed property, portfolios can be constructed utilizing other asset classes, in conjunction with listed property, to provide a combination of capital and income growth as well as an acceptable level of current income.
NEDGROUP INVESTMENTS MANDATE
As part of its Institutional Fund Management business, Grindrod Asset Management has been appointed fund manager of the Nedgroup Investments Property Fund.
The Fund
The fund is focused on local listed property securities, providing investors with a high level of current income, inflation-hedged income growth and long-term
capital growth. The fund is therefore ideally suited to investors seeking income today and who wish to preserve the purchasing power of that income stream into the future.
Given the low correlations between listed property and general equities, the fund is also suitable for investors looking to diversify their portfolio and reduce
volatility.
The fund has a small cap bias - capped at 1% of the market cap of the listed property index.
